The Isle of Man team arrived early on a bright cold day at Marple, they certainly didn’t show any ill effects from the early flight & scored an excellent opening try after 5 mins when the 10 chipped, gathered and fired a pass out to the left winger to score.
This early scare seemed to sting Marple into life and the scores were soon level when Nunn crossed in the corner. A second soon followed when after an excellent 5 man interchange down the left ended with a deft Biggs off-load from the floor (who knew??) to Crawford to cross for his 1st try for the 1st XV
The rest of the half was frustrating in that with a totally dominant scrum & lineout that more tries, other than one from Duffy, were not scored. Credit to Vagas for sticking-in the game & disrupting Marple ball.
In the 2nd half Marple began to go through the gears and with the young visitors tiring a further x5 Tries were scored through David, half-time sub Gordon with 2, Duffy with his 2nd (leading try scorer 2018 ™) & to cap it off a try, after 2 years in the football wilderness, from Wolfenden.
Also of note that No8 & Coach David managed to butcher x2 push-over tries whilst already over the line within 45 seconds of each other.
Full–time score 52-5
Positives from the match were the bonus point win and cobwebs blown away
MoM goes to Crawford scoring his 1st try & carried for the hard yards all-day
